The Sailing Team
The Junior Patí de Vela Racing Team is much more than an after-school activity—it’s a place where young sailors grow both as athletes and as individuals.
Training sessions combine all the key elements needed to develop well-rounded young racers:
Physical warm-up and onshore preparation, an essential part of every training session.
On-the-water training sessions focused on manoeuvres, sailing technique, and teamwork.
Participation in the club’s social regattas, giving sailors the opportunity to apply their skills in real racing situations.
Each sailor is provided with a school-owned Patí de Vela, included in the program fee, which they are encouraged to care for as if it were their own. This helps them develop a sense of responsibility while learning the fundamentals of boat care and maintenance—an essential part of the sport.
When weather conditions do not allow us to sail, we make the most of the time ashore by focusing on sailing theory, technique, and race tactics through engaging sessions tailored to each sailor’s level.
The goal of the season is for team members to have the opportunity to participate, on a voluntary basis, in the official regattas of the Junior Patí de Vela racing calendar:
Campionat de Catalunya
Campionat i Copa d’Espanya
Copa d’Europa
The monthly fee does not include the coaches’ travel expenses for these events. However, the club coordinates the logistics to make participation as easy as possible for interested families.
A unique opportunity to grow in the world of competitive sailing, surrounded by a supportive team and strong sporting values.

Frequently Asked Questions about Sailing Courses
What if the weather is bad? Can children still attend?
Yes! Our instructors will always be there, regardless of the weather conditions. Activities will be adapted to suit the conditions, ensuring that every session remains safe, enjoyable, and engaging.
What do we need to bring from home?
A swimsuit, sunscreen, a cap, and a towel. Wetsuits and life jackets are provided by the club and can be borrowed for each session.
We also recommend bringing a piece of fruit or a sandwich to enjoy as a mid-morning snack.
Is it mandatory to participate in regattas outside the club?
No, it's not mandatory, but it is highly recommended. Learning and development within the Racing Team go hand in hand with travelling together to compete in regattas outside the club.
